Though it's not yet been confirmed by Rihanna herself, thanks to Sia we now know that Rihanna declined the chance to record a track written by Adele.

Australian singer/songwriter Sia has said that her new single, Alive, was originally meant for Adele's album 25 but didn't make the final version.

Sia said: "We her and Adele wrote three songs and none of them made the cut and this Alive was one of them. I said to Adele, 'do you mind if I pitch it to, say, Rihanna?' and she said, 'Yeah'."

Sia then went on to say: "Everybody in my life was like, 'You can't give this the song Alive away to anybody'", but when asked about sending the song to Rihanna, Sia explained: "She passed. We sent it to her, but it's not really her so I don't know why I thought that. She's a little more edgy."

Rihanna's much-anticipated eighth studio album, which we now know to be called Anti, is yet to have a confirmed release date. Rumours are currently saying the album, which is being heavily teased on Rihanna's social media accounts, will finally drop in early 2016.
