She's overtaken Ed Sheeran

It's turning out to be an amazing year for pop superstar Taylor Swift, not only did she return to the music scene with her epic singles 'Look What You Made Me Do' and '... Ready For It', today it has been revealed her brand new album 'Reputation' has become the fastest selling album of 2017 in America.

'Reputation' sold a MASSIVE 1.2 million in the first week, overtaking Ed Sheeran's 'Divide' sales of 931,000 to date.

Similarly to her previous albums, Taylor made the decision to keep 'Reputation' off music streaming sites such as Spotify, meaning fans of the singer would have to download the album to listen.

Reputation's first week sales gives the 27-year-old her fourth million-selling week, after her previous three albums all surpassed 1 million in the first week. Her album 'Speak Now' in 2010 sold 1.047 million, 'Red' in 2012 sold 1.208 million and her last album '1989' sold 1.287 in 2014.

Pretty impressive!

Early this month 500 lucky fans were given the chance to hear 'Reputation' before its official release when the singer invited them to her Secret Sessions.

The pop star recently uploaded a video giving an insight into what happens at her listening parties held at her houses in the UK and US, and they look totally AMAZING!

Check it out below:

As well as her new album breaking records, Taylor's lead single ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ or ‘LWYMMD’ to fans has smashed streaming and video records. The video has amassed 682 million views on YouTube, and was played an estimated 39 million times in the 24 hours after its release. That’s 12 million more times than Adele’s ‘Hello’ which previously held the record for most online plays in 24 hours with 27 million plays.

Meanwhile back in the UK, 'Reputation' debuted at Number 1 on the Official UK Chart last week, selling 84,000 copies.

Taylor's sixth studio album 'Reputation' is out now.
