Nigella Lawson has taken to Twitter to explain her pronunciation of a particular kitchen appliance, after a clip from the latest episode of her series Cook, Eat, Repeat went viral on Monday (8th December) night.
Viewers at home watched in amazement as Nigella poured some milk into a pan after warming it up in what she called the ‘meecro-wa-vay.’
People watching at home could not believe what they had heard and quickly headed to social media to share the clip, which went viral.
Fans started to question whether the posh chef actually does pronounce the name of the kitchen appliance this way or if she was just being sarcastic and messing with her viewers.
After the clip went viral, Nigella replied to one user saying, ‘Well, I do say it like that, but not because I think that’s how it’s actually pronounced.’ So, maybe Nigella is just trying to have a good time and a joke while she cooks.
The TV Chef later to replied to her own tweet saying ,"Can this be the end of it now?" after she was bombarded with messages about the clip.

However, even Nigella couldn't resist having one more laugh about the whole situation, after one user tweeted the chef a photoshopped image of an Ikea microwave called 'Meekro Wahve' adding ,"The @Nigella_Lawson and @IKEAUK collab drops tonight."
Nigella replied to the tweet saying ,"I know I said enough now, but I couldn't resist."
Despite Nigella clearing up the confusion, it appears she has started a new trend with many viewers saying they will now only refer to the kitchen appliance the way the chef does from now on.

That includes singer Tom Walker, who did a hilarious impression of Nigella on TikTok, as well as going around his kitchen and saying the names of other kitchen appliances in Nigella's new way. 😂
