Results Day: advice for whatever happens

Whether you are waiting for your GCSEs, SQAs, Scottish Highers or A-Levels, results day can be a scary prospect.

Luckily our mates at The Mix have advice for whatever the outcome…

Be prepared

It’s natural to feel nervous before results day so don’t beat yourself up!

But there’s a few things you can do to prepare yourself for the day. Consider every outcome, your results may be what you expected but they may be worse or better!

Consider what your options are if they are better or worse – will you retake, go to a different University or not pursue Higher Education; think about who you can talk to for advice, is it a parent or family member or a teacher or career advisor; print out any conditional or insurance offers you have from Universities with the telephone and email addresses for their admissions office and fully charge up your phone!

On results day?

Whatever your results, don’t panic! It’s not the end of world if you don’t get what you expected. Lots of people don’t get the grades they want and go on to have successful careers.
