Ever struggle to come up with a caption for your latest Instagram photo? An avocado emoji with hashtag #brunch just isn’t going to cut for that perfectly lit, lark filtered shot of your Sunday breakfast. You are not alone friends and there’s a new app in town to solve this modern day dilemma for you!

App ‘Rubric’ has arrived, it promises to provide cool witty, funny captions or famous quotes or lyrics to caption your Instagram photos.

The brains behind the operation is none other than former Made in Chelsea star Amber Atherton.

Explaining where she got the idea from, Amber said: ‘I used to have a long note going on my iPhone that I’d update regularly with caption ideas and everyone asked me to caption their photo. People would text me photos all day asking for caption ideas and it just got to the point where I was like 'OK I'm gonna build a visual recognition system and embed machine learning to solve this problem in a more scalable way'.

So how does it work? When you upload a photo the app detects what’s in it and pops up with words explaining what it sees, before making suggestions for the perfect caption.

Worried you might end up with the same captions as your mates? Amber explains ‘The idea is for the caption to be uniquely relevant to the photo you’re posting.’

Rubric is available to download on iOS.
