Is there going to be a sequel to Luther: The Fallen Sun?

Actor and singer Idris Elba joined Jordan and Perri on KISS Breakfast back in January, where he talked about his single 'Knives Down', a campaign he launched Don’t Stop Your Future and whether or not there will be sequel to Luther: The Fallen Sun.

When Luther: The Fallen Sun was released on Netflix back in March 2023 it took the streaming platform by storm. The film was a continuation of the award-winning television saga reimagined for film, and ever since it was released fans had been hoping for a sequel.

When the boys quizzed him about a potential sequel it was good news, as Idris told the boys: "All I can tell you is that we have got a story for the next one."

He went on to say: "In true Luther fashion, we don't know if we're going to it... but we are going to. There's definitely hope!"

In April 2024, Idris spoke to Collider whilst promoting his new role in Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off series Knuckles. He told the publication: "The chances are good. The chances are very good actually. I don't want to make any exclusive announcements, but it's looking good for old Johnny Boy.

This follows the actor admitting last year that he'd be up for a sequel, telling Collider: "Luther ended up being one of the top five most streamed films on Netflix, which is an incredible achievement, since it was the first film from the television show. I’m hoping to make another one.

"I love Luther. I love that character, and I love where I can possibly take him, as a story and as a character. So, yeah, keep your fingers crossed."

Fingers crossed it gets the go ahead! 🤞
