Dartmoor Zoo offers an alternative way to celebrate Valentine's Day

Dartmoor Zoo is offering the opportunity to name one of their cockroaches after an un-special (or special) someone in your life.

For £5, which will go to their animal charity, the zoo said they'll name the insects after anyone in your life that's "bugging" you.

Dartmoor Zoo will also send out a customisable certificate featuring the chosen name.

Some were eager to donate, name and shame, while others prefer to be as far away from cockroaches as possible.

The zoo also gave additional ideas, to whom you could name the cockroach after, such as a former boss, or whoever has been a thorn in your side.

All proceeds will help Dartmoor Zoo's charity continue caring for their animals and supporting their vital conservation efforts.
