Ruthie Henshall shows no fear in first I'm A Celeb trial

The Magic at the Musicals presenter smashed her first trial!

Author: Alex RossPublished 19th Nov 2020

Our very own Ruthie Henshall was a late arrival into I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here during Wednesday's (18th November) episode, but the West End legend didn't have the easiest of routes into Gwrych Castle.

In true I'm A Celeb fashion, poor Ruthie was forced to take part in a gruesome trial alongside tenor Russell Watson, IN FRONT of her brand new camp mates just to add to the pressure.

As both Ruthie and Russell are stage stars, Ant and Dec introduced the trial 'Stage Fright', which saw the pair taking part in a number of different stages such as 'Laughing Stocks', 'Eye Scream', and 'Critters in Ya Knickers’.

The first part of the trial, which was worth five stars, saw Ruthie in stocks reading out the first part of a joke, whilst Russell had to put his head into a barrel of gunge and critters to find the punchline.

In perhaps the most awful part of the trial, Ruthie and Russell were then asked to transfer fish eyes using their mouths into glasses, before having to crunch into one of the eyes to create a 'sauce'.

The final part of the task involved Ruthie and Russell wearing a pair of large clear trousers, with thousands of nasty critters being poured in by rangers.

The pair were asked to recrate famous dance moves to songs like 'Macarena', 'Single Ladies', 'Gangham Style', 'The Birdie Song' and 'Proud Mary', whilst their fellow celebs had to guess the tracks.

After an incredible performance in all three rounds, Ruthie and Russell achieved a massive 11/12 stars for the group, meaning they all ate well.

Speaking after the trial, Ruthie said, "I'm so excited to get into the castle and really look forward to saying hello to everyone and getting to know them."
