The Addams Family tour to close early

The UK and Ireland tour of The Addams Family will be closing early it has been announced.

Members of the cast revealed the sad news on social media confirming that the tour will not visit its final four venues and the tour will now conclude in Norwich on 30th April.

The four venues that show won't visit include the Congress Theatre in Eastbourne, the New Theatre in Oxford, His Majesty's Theatre in Aberdeen and the Edinburgh Festival Theatre who have all removed the ability to book tickets from the show on their websites.

A statement from the show says: 'Due to the continued impact of the effects of Covid on our audiences and their willingness to return to the theatres, we have unfortunately had to take the decision to close the tour of The Addams Family earlier than planned. We apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience this might cause'.

The tour will still run for three more weeks, they are currently at the Hall for Cornwall in Truro and will be visiting the Manchester Opera House and the Theatre Royal in Norwich.

The Addams Family: Cast

Joanne Clifton as Morticia Addams

Joanne's theatre credits include the UK touring productions of The Rocky Horror Show, Flashdance and Top Hat. She was a professional dancer on the 12th and 14th series of Strictly Come Dancing, winning the latter with Ore Oduba.

Cameron Blakely as Gomez Adams

Returning to the role of Gomez is Cameron Blakely. Cameron's other theatre credits include Thenardier in Les Misérables on the West End and Bamatabois the 25th Anniversary concert, and Fagin in Oliver at the Watermill Theatre.

Grant McIntyre as Pugsley Addams

Grant McIntyre reprises his role of Pugsley Addams. Grant has also appeared in Click & Collect on BBC One, and We Are Here, a site specific project by the National Theatre the commemorated 100 years since the Battle of the Somme.

Valda Aviks as Grandma Addams

Also returning to the cast is Valda Aviks who plays Grandma Addams. Valda's other theatre credits include Funny Girl at the Savoy Theatre, Once at the Phoenix Theatre, and Into the Woods at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre.

Kingsley Morton as Wednesday Addams

Recent graduate Kingsley will be playing the role of the iconic Wednesday Addams. Kingsley appeared in Frost Bite at The Garden Theatre. Her credits in training at ArtsEd include Freaky Friday, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Design for Living, Jerry Springer: The Opera and The Affair.

Ahmed Hamad as Lucas Beineke

In the role of Lucas is Ahmed Hamas. Ahmed's credits include Now or Never at the Barn Theatre, Stay Awake Jake at the Southwark Playhouse, RENT at the Hope Mill Theatre, The Boy in the Dress (RSC), and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium.

Scott Paige as Uncle Fester

Scott will be playing Uncle Fester. Scott's credits include Eurobeat and Cinderella: The Socially Distanced Ball at the Turbine Theatre, the UK tour of Nativity, the South Korean production of The Wedding Singer, Seussical the Musical at the Southwark Playhouse, Eugenius at The Other Palace and Made in Dagenham at the Adelphi Theatre.

Sean Kingsley as Mal Beineke

Sean will be playing Lucas' father, Mal. Sean's West End credits include Les Misérables, The Drowsy Chaperone, Billy Elliot, Scrooge, Cats and Me and My Girl.


His other theatre credits include the Regents Park production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the UK tour of Jersey Boys and the world tour of We Will Rock You.

Kara Lane as Alice Beineke

Kara will be playing Lucas' mother, Alice. Kara was the guest lead vocalist for The Big Beat Revue tour, she's appeared in The Sound of Music both on a national tour and in Dubai, the international tour of Mary Poppins, Sweeney Todd at the Derby Theatre and Colchester Mercury Theatre and the national tour of Oklahoma.

Dickon Gough & Ryan Bennet as Lurch

Dickon and Ryan will both playing Lurch with Dickon in the role in 2021 and Ryan taking over in 2022.


Dickon's credits include City of Angels at the Garrick Theatre, The Midnight Gang at the Chichester Festival Theatre, and Lurch in the original UK cast of The Addams Family. In 2010 his bottom was cast for the Walkers Crisp campaign for their 'Builders Breakfast' flavour selling 225000 packets of crisps.


Ryan's credits include he Importance of Being Earnest at The Barn Theatre, Cirencester and Turbine Theatre, London, Cinderella at the Buxton Opera House and Daddy Long Legs at The Barn Theatre, Cirencester.

The Ensemble

Joining the ensemble of The Addams Family are Abigail Brodie, Joshua Robinson, Luke Byrne, Matthew Ives, Oonagh Cox, Roxanne Couch, Sean Lopeman & Sophie Hutchinson.

What is the Addams Family musical about?

In this instalment of the Addams Family's adventures we meet a grown up Wednesday Adams who has fallen in love with lovely man called Lucas who comes from a nice, respectable family. When the family comes to visit for dinner, the Addams family must try to put on 'One Normal Night' which we know is never going to happen with this lot involved!
