After 40 years of dating and having a son together, Kurt Russell has teased that he and partner Goldie Hawn have begun to have that wedding discussion.

Kurt and his son Wyatt joined Billy Bush on Extra to talk about their new sci-fi series called Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, and during the chat, Kurt was asked when he'll be getting married, after being in a relationship for so long.

In response to the question he gets asked a lot, he replied: "I've been going with my girl (Goldie Hawn) for 40 years…" before he added about the wedding chat: "You know what, it's come up in conversation, whereas it never used to."

After Billy pursues the question, Kurt then replies "(I) can't even go there" – while Wyatt explains that it comes up in every interview. Kurt then continued: "We have both been married, we've both done that, and you know what, we've lived our life.

"We've had our family, our family continues to grow, it's fantastic."

Kurt was previously married to Season Hubley between 1979 and 1983, with whom he has a son called Boston.

While Goldie Hawn was married Gus Trikonis in 1969, later divorcing 1976, followed by Bill Hudson in 1976 divorcing in 1982. Goldie and Bill have two children together, Kate and Oliver.

Goldie and Kurt first met back in 1966 on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, however it was after they worked together on Swing Shift that their relationship blossomed. Together, Goldie and Kurt have one child, Wyatt, who is an actor and ice hockey player.

Despite not getting married, the pair have been dubbed one of Hollywood's most beloved and long lasting couples.
