Prince albums with unreleased Purple Rain material set for release in June

The double-album release will include unreleased Prince music and two complete concert films.

Warner Bros records have announced that on 9th June this year, they will be releasing a Purple Rain double album which Prince signed off before he died in April earlier this year. Warner Bros CEO Cameron Strangsaid,

The reissue of Purple Rain will be part of a deluxe double album, featuring a mix of classics, unreleased music and concert films.

Warner Bros CEO Cameron Strang said, "When we make any of Prince's music available to fans - from the hits to unreleased gems - we are committed to upholding Prince's high creative standards and we know fans will be thrilled when they hear these albums and see these films."

Before he died in April last year, the artist signed a deal with Jay Z's music service 'Tidal', agreeing to only stream his final two albums on that service.

However, managers at Warner Music came to an agreement to make his music widely available on other streaming apps:

"Prince recorded his most influential and popular music during his time with Warner Bros. and we are deeply aware of our responsibility to safeguard and nurture his incredible legacy," the CEO stated.

"Warner Bros. is thrilled to be able to bring Prince's music to his millions of fans around the world via streaming services, fittingly on music's biggest night."

We're just excited to hear the new music.
