"We shouldn't be ashamed," says the Duke of Cambridge.

The Duke of Cambridge has united forces with Lady Gaga, bringing together royalty with pop royalty to tackle mental health issues.

Prince William went on FaceTime with the American singer from his home in London, to discuss mental health as part of the Heads Together #OKtosay film series.

Having recently revealed that she suffers from PTSD, Lady Gaga explains to Prince William:

"In my life I go, 'Oh my goodness, look at all these beautiful, wonderful things I have' and 'I should be so happy', but you can't help it if in the morning when you wake up, you are so tired and you are so sad, and so full of anxiety."

The #OKtosay campaigners also strongly agreed that there should be no 'shame' attached to mental health.

"We shouldn't be ashamed of it," said Prince William. "Just having a conversation with a friend or family member can really make such a difference."

Lady Gaga continued: "Even though it was hard, the best thing that could come from my mental illness was to share it with other people."

Last year, Lady Gaga revealed in an open letter that she suffers from PTSD, something which is normally associated with the armed forces. She explained in the letter:

"I pledge not only to help our youth not feel ashamed of their own conditions, but also to lend support to those servicemen and women who suffer from PTSD. No one’s invisible pain should go unnoticed."
