Coronation Street actress Catherine Tyldesley has hit back at reports that suggested her debut music gig flopped, claiming people should ‘check facts’.

The actress, who is best known for her role of Eva Price in the ITV soap, has tweeted her anger at a news report which was run in a national newspaper over the weekend.

The paper reported that Catherine has only sold 113 tickets for her upcoming gig at Manchester Quays Theatre, but her tweet suggests otherwise.

Taking to Twitter to get her point across, the 32-year-old wrote ‘Certain papers should check facts before printing negativity… #yourkarma #slownewsday’.

Fans were quick to support the actress after her rant, messaging Catherine their best wishes.

Catherine’s debut single ‘Rise’ is out now with her debut album expected for release in December.
