Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the birth of his fourth child, the first with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.
He made the announcement on Instagram over the weekend with a photo of himself with his oldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, at Georgina's bedside.
Also taking the opportunity to announce the baby's name Cristiano captioned the photo in Spanish, 'A Alana Martina acaba de nascer! Tanto a Geo como a Alana estão muito bem! Estamos todos muito felizes! ❤️'.
The caption translates as, 'Alana Martina is just born! Both Geo and Alana are doing great! We are all very happy!'
In just 13 hours the photo has had over seven million likes and thousands of comments from around the world congratulating the couple on their new arrival.
Just under a month ago Cristiano, Georgina and Cristiano Ronaldo Jr were seen at the FIFA awards ceremony where Cristiano won the FIFA Player of The Year for the second year in a row. The model didn't let pregnancy get in the way of looking fantastic, as she wore a beautiful silver dress matched with black stiletto heels.
Although both Cristiano and Georgina have kept the due date of her pregnancy secret, back in September the gender of their unborn baby was revealed by mistake in a comment on Instagram. It was after Georgina posted a short video of herself learning to dance, thanking her dance teachers for the lesson. The teachers then replied saying, 'A pleasure giving you salsa lessons. We're very happy at how you did things in your first class. The little girl you're carrying inside you is going to be a great dancer. Basi and Deisy.'
The comment was quickly deleted, but not before many fans began to speculate the couple were having a little girl.
Ronaldo and Georgina announced they were expecting their first child together back in July this year. After weeks of speculation, the 32-year-old confirmed the news to El Mundo, when he said he was 'very happy' to have another child on the way.
This news came just weeks after the footballer confirmed his baby twins via a surrogate had arrived. Introducing his new son Matteo and daughter Eva to the world in a cute Instagram photo, seven-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. held his baby sister as the footballer held his son. Alongside the photo he wrote, 'Blessed'.
