Okay, can everyone just calm down? Johnny Depp is NOT moving to the North of Scotland!

"I’m not retiring, I’m just looking for a change in life and I think I’ve found that in Inverness" - Johnny Depp didn't say any of this.

According to the website KBC14.com, the American actor is planning a move to the Inverness area because he is "tired of the L.A. lifestyle".

He's quoted as saying: “I’m just tired of the L.A. lifestyle and I feel like, at this point in my life, I’d rather just live in a place full of real, genuine people. I’ve been to Inverness, Scotland a couple of times over the years and the people there are real… they’re genuine, and yeah every community has its problems but the people there are good, decent people and they care about their community. Those are the things I find most important in deciding where to live,” Depp told the magazine.

But it's fake news, people. FAKE. NEWS.

Listen to Ginno & Grace discussing the story on MFR this morning...

Despite all of this, the site, which proudly boasts that it's "your local news source", has successfully managed to trick plenty of local people on social media.

But not everyone was taken in by the story.

The site which posted the article contains a prominent disclaimer: "kbc14.com is a satirical and fantasy website. None of the articles on kbc14.com should be considered true and are simply works of satire or fantasy meant for entertainment purposes."

As your mum always used to tell you, if it's too good to be true then it probably is.
