Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin reveal exciting baby news
The couple are expecting their second child together!
It's been a lovely start to 2022 for soap stars Shayne Ward and Sophie Austin, as the engaged couple have announced they are expecting their second child together!
The pair, who are already parents to five-year-old daughter Willow, announced their lovely news during an interview with HELLO!, where the couple revealed Sophie conceived naturally following a failed IVF attempt.
Speaking to the publication, former X Factor winner Shayne said: "I would always say to Sophie: 'I know in my gut and in my heart of hearts that we are going to have more children.' There was no two ways about it. We never gave up. It's been a whirlwind.
"And 16 years after I appeared on The X Factor, I have a beautiful family and one on the way. I am on cloud nine. It's amazing that we're going to have another girl to add to the Ward clan."
Bravely opening up about her experience of undergoing IVF treatment, former Hollyoaks actress Sophie said: "It was one of the most emotionally draining things we have ever been through. And for Shayne, it was quite a hard process because he wasn't physically going through it but it was just as tough for him.
"Basically, it's in the hands of God in a sense," Shayne explains. "I always knew a good thing was coming."

Upon hearing the news of second pregnancy, fans are friends of the couple were quick to send messages online. Shayne's former Coronation Street co-star Catherine Tyldesley wrote on Instagram: '😍😍😍 💖⭐️💖⭐️💖just wonderful!!! (Willow tho!! 😭😭😍😍- so grown up!!!) big love guys xxxxx'. (sic)
Helen Flanagan then wrote: 'YEY 😍😍😍😍✨✨✨✨✨', with Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Waring adding: 'Congratulations to all of you 💕💕💕'. (sic)
Shayne and Sophie are expecting a baby girl in May 2022.
