Popular TV soap Coronation Street, whose studios are based in Greater Manchester, has announced they will be dedicating a bench all the victims of the Manchester bombing.

Earlier this week it emerged that Martyn Hett, a Corrie superfan, was killed in the Manchester bombing.

The bench will be located in a new part of the soap's set which is currently under construction in Trafford, Greater Manchester.

In a statement on their website ITV said,

'The dedication will be planned in the coming weeks following an outpouring of affection for 29-year-old Corrie superfan Martyn and all those who lost their lives and have been injured following the Manchester Arena bombing.'

Going on to say the inscription on the bench would read, 'For Martyn and all those who lost their lives on 22nd May 2017. We Stand Together.'

Martyn, who was 29-years-old, was a PR manager from Greater Manchester and was due to leave for the trip of lifetime around the USA later this week.

The Come Dine With Me winner described himself as a 'superfan' of Coronation Street and his friends have posted a photo of him outside the studios.

Martyn has received a number of tributes from friends, family and further afield including Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlphine who plays Fizz Brown and singer Mariah Carey, of whom Martyn was a big fan.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the events of Monday night.
