We see it all the time, celebs taking to social media to show off a product they've been using, wearing or in this case eating in the hope it inspires the masses to go out and purchase.

However one bakery in Liverpool got so fed up with requests that they decided to take to Twitter to shame the companies asking for freebies for their clients instead of shelling out for them.

Laura from Laura's Little Bakery felt it was the last straw when a request from last year's Love Island's contestant Malin Andersson to get a free cake for her boyfriend came in and posted the exchange with the company representing her on Twitter.

She wrote, 'I wasn't kidding when I said this happens a lot. 😳 The downside to being near the top of google search for 'cake makers in Liverpool'.'

Laura's post certainly struck a chord with other small businesses who tweeted in support.

One Twitter user, Carl Reader, summed up the situation by saying 'There's nothing wrong with offering free stuff for exposure. But being asked is a bit different isn't it!'

Laura's tweet has since had over 7,000 retweets and over 21,000 likes. Laura did post that she has catered for many celebs in the past who have been happy to pay for her services and called them 'amazing customers'.
