Police searching for an Aviemore bar worker who has been missing for over 16 months have discovered a body.

Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of Rodrigo Falcon has been informed.

Rodrigo, who was originally from Argentina, was last seen near Aviemore in the early hours of December 11, 2022.

After leaving a nightclub in the town where he had been with friends, Mr Falcon was seen on CCTV walking down Grampian Road towards the southern end of the village.

Temperatures were below freezing at the time.

Following his disappearance there were extensive efforts to find him. His friends were joined by volunteers in making searches of Aviemore and the surrounding area.

Police divers searched a section of the River Spey and local lochs and private investigators also examined the case.

Now officers say they have made a discovery on the outskirts of the town. A report’s been sent to the procurator fiscal.
