The closure of the A9 north of Inverness after a road accident has caused long tailbacks in Inverness.

The road was closed completely at rush hour this morning in the Black Isle. Police Scotland have not yet released any details about the crash.

The road opened southbound earlier, and has now re-opened northbound as well.

But long diversions via Beauly all morning have caused long tailbacks across the Highland Capital.
