Man charged following February crime spree

33-year-old linked with a series of incidents in Keith

A 33 year old man has been charged and will appear at Elgin Sheriff Court in connection with three incidents in Keith.

The incidents occurred on Land Street, Keith on 20th February, Mid Street, Keith on 22nd February and at the same location on 23rd February. The first being an attempted break in, the second was an intent to steal and the third was a theft by housebreaking where jewellery and electrical items worth a low four figure sum were taken.

Investigating Officer PC Mark Bayliss thanked the public for their response to the crimes saying: "We received a good response and assistance from members of the Keith community which enabled officers to act quickly.

"Dealing with break-ins is one of our priorities but we need the public to remain vigilant and inform us when they see anything suspicious happening."
