UK’s first P-8A Poseidon Maritime Patrol Aircraft as it touched down in its new home of Moray.

The aircraft, named Pride of Moray, landed on the runway at Kinloss Barracks from Jacksonville, Florida.

RAF Lossiemouth will be the eventual home of the new squadron of P-8A aircraft come September.

The Pride of Moray is the first of nine Maritme Patrol Aircraft which will be based in the North East.

The Poseidon fleet marks the fifth generation of submarine hunters protecting UK waters, with the former Nimrod fleet well-known to Moray.

It was withdrawn from service in 2010, but now a major investment in infrastructure has paved the way for the Poseidon's arrival, with hangars being built at RAF Lossiemouth, along with improvements to the runway there.
