Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou says they're close to completing 'a few' deals to bring new players to the club.

The Australian has been desperate to add to his playing squad in the transfer market and opened up on their struggles to do so earlier in the window.

He now says he's in a confident mood about their progress and hopes they'll be able to make multiple announcements sooner rather than later.

He said: "We just need players and I've said that consistently from the start.

"We're working hard. It's not an easy market to get deals done.

"I can at least now confidently give a deadline because the deadline is actually coming up,

"I'm pretty confident we'll have players in before the transfer deadline. Not pretty confident - I'm very confident.

"It's just a matter of timing and getting things done. It's not as straight forward as it used to be.

"We're very close to a few deals I think. We just need to keep doing what we're doing. Stay focused and disciplined.

"Make sure we get the right players in and once we do it'll help us enormously because we're putting a big workload on a core group of players at the moment".

The Parkhead side have been linked with a move for Croatian right-back Josip Juranovic.

The Croatia international is valued at around £2.5million with Legia Warsaw reportedly ready to listen to offers for him.

Postecoglou was quizzed on his potential arrival, but says they have multiple targets.

He said: "He would be one of a number of right full-backs we would have been linked with over the period I have been here.

"It's obviously an area where we definitely need some cover.

"At the moment Anthony Ralston is doing an outstanding job and I think there's more in him to improve - but he can't play every game.

"It's definitely an area we need to strengthen and it's an area we're targeting.

"But to nail it down to one person - that's now how we're working.

"We're working on multiple targets in each position because the way the market is at the moment there's just no guarantee of getting anything over the line.

"That's probably why we've been linked with so many people.

"In terms of deals done - nothing is done yet".
