Giovanni van Bronckhorst is confident Rangers can cope without Alfredo Morelos.

The striker has been ruled out until the end of the season after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury.

He will miss out on a huge end to the season for the Ibrox side, including Thursday's trip to Braga for their Europa League quarter-final first leg.

The 25-year old has proven to be influential in Europa for the club but his manager believes they have enough in their squad to get by without him.

Van Bronckhorst said: “Of course, it is a big blow to us because he is our striker and we now don’t have his any more this season. So, yeah, we are disappointed.

“But we know what the problem is, how long he’s out, and we have to move on. That’s the only thing we have to do now.

“Well, we prepare this game how we prepare for every game. We see the opponent and look at their strengths and weaknesses.

“We will see which players we can use. Obviously we don’t have Morelos and we don’t have Hagi. We don’t have Lowry who is also not available.

“We will pick a game-plan and try to execute it as well as possible.

“Yes, I believe that we can cope without Morelos. We are disappointed by the loss of Morelos.

“Out of the five questions I’ve been asked four of them have been about Morelos so that means he is a very important player for us.

“But the reality is that he’s not here and we have to prepare for this game without him.

“That’s what we’ve done in the last few days and that’s what we’re focusing on.

"We’ve discussed Morelos for a long time. I don’t want to discuss more about Morelos, although I’m very disappointed with his loss. If you don’t mind I want to focus on the Braga game."
