A recent survey conducted in association with Sony Movie Channel has revealed some interesting things about the British public's viewing habits.

On average 104 are watched every year, with men watching around three a week, whilst women only watch two.

The results have also found that comedy is the most popular type of film to watch, whether with by yourself, your partner or with friends.

Of the 2000 people questioned 36% deemed snacks and in particular crisps as the most essential item for a movie marathon. Whilst a quarter of movie buffs questioned are also keen to have a cup of tea at hand when sitting down to watch a film, compared to just 10% opting for beer.

Nearly half of those questioned also said that pyjamas were the perfect attire for a movie marathon, with double the amount of women than men saying they would prefer pyjamas.

Here in Scotland Glasgow has the biggest movie snackers, with more than anywhere else in the UK. More people in Glasgow also prefer watching films in their pants than anywhere else! And people in Scotland are the least likely to watch a horror movie alone!
