A mum who lost her son to a rare form of cancer says the prospect of a park being built in his memory is what keeps her going.

Susan Hey's son Hamish passed away in her arms in 2017 when he was just eight years old.

In the same year, Susan was also given her second diagnosis of an incurable breast cancer.

With help from the local community, funds have now been raised to start work on a 'Splash Pad' in Nairn.

The Splash Pad will be available between April and October, and will be the first of its kind in the Highlands.

Work is hoped to begin early in the new year with the facility being in place around Spring 2020

Susan described to MFR News how the last couple of years have been for her.
