Specialist bed for a disabled boy

Rhys is a little boy with multiple disabilities who cannot sleep in a normal bed.

Rhys has several health problems including epilepsy, severe reflux and poor trunk control as well as being blind. He had outgrown his cot but he could not be moved into a normal bed however his parents could not afford the specialist bed that Rhys required.

Rhys' parents applied to Cash for Kids asking us to fund part of the cost of a customised bed that would grown with Rhys - they planned to fundraise for the remaining amount. However the Cash for Kids board decided to award the full cost of the bed so that Rhys wouldn't have to wait any longer for the bed he so desperately needed.

The bed has made a massive difference to the whole family as it not only offers somewhere safe for Rhys to sleep but it also can be used a changing station for dressing him.
