Make an application for support

Northsound Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most.

Our grant rounds support children from birth up to and including 18 years of age who are vulnerable, come from disadvantaged backgrounds or are living with an illness or disability. We also provide a lifeline to many other charities, organisations and community groups, funding much-needed services and life-changing equipment.

The value of a grant is typically from £1,000 to £3,000 but we will happily consider applications for larger amounts.

All applications must be made via the online system at the link below. Please read the eligibility criteria at the top of the application form before proceeding.

Area Covered

All applicants must be within the Northsound Radio broadcast area as indicated on the map below. Please note that is image is for illustrative purposes only - if you're unsure please get in touch.

Important Information

Meetings are dependent on the donations we receive, and as such the dates may change.

Additional funding rounds may also be made available for specific campaigns - these will be detailed on our website.

All decisions made by the board are final, and all applications will receive a response once a decision has been made at the meetings detailed above.

General Eligibility Criteria

Consideration for grants will only be given to projects aiming to help children and young people up to and including the age of 18 years old who are unwell, disabled or disadvantaged

We will not fund;

• Salaries/volunteer expenses

• Home improvements (e.g. windows and doors/extensions, unless modifying for a child’s accessibility needs)

• Holidays abroad for families

• Furniture that will not be used specifically by children

• School trips abroad

• General operational costs

• Televisions

• Rent/rates for premises

• Driving lessons for parents/carers

• Medical treatment abroad

• PTAs

• Sporting events for individuals to participate in

• CICs (Community Interest Companies)

• Food Banks (we will fund projects and activities that include food provision – and Food Banks are welcome to apply for Christmas gifts)

• Cash grants made directly to individuals or families – however we can purchase items or vouchers on their behalf
