It's the moment that all fans of The Lion King have been waiting for - the FIRST trailer of the live-action remake! The Disney favourite is currently being remade along with many other Disney favourites, and this new Lion King film will star an incredible line-up of Beyoncé as adult Nala and Donald Glover as adult Simba.

The short teaser trailer might only give us a little insight into what's in store for audiences next year, but it will definitely get the hairs on the back of your neck standing up!

The trailer starts with the iconic voice of James Earl Jones (Mufasa) as we see sweeping shots of the African plains, before seeing key moments from the story, including the young Simba being presented to the animals of Pride Lands.

Although it's been less than 12 hours since the surprise teaser trailer dropped, it has already received over 7.5 million views and the comments have been flooding in, with many commenting on how it makes them feel very nostalgic.

One person commented, 'this looks phenomenal. I just cried on my couch for 30 minutes; nostalgia is too real. This will be the biggest worldwide box office of 2019, mark my words', with another saying, 'Never been happy and scared at the same time. Happy coz it's The Lion King. Scared coz of those goddamn Furries. 😟' sic

Disney announced Beyoncé would be playing the role of adult Nala last year, revealing the full cast in a tweet.

Along with Beyoncé's Nala, the film will also star Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones reprising his role of Mufasa and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.

The Lion King was originally released as an animated film in 1994 starring James Earl Jones as Mufasa, a character he also played in the sequel The Lion King II: Simba's Pride.
