The beginning of another week in the Celebrity Big Brother house has started off with a shock backdoor eviction and fans weren't happy.

Former England footballer John Barnes was sent packing in last night's (22nd January) episode, after he was on the receiving end of a housemates' vote, having lost a series of tasks during the Battle of the Sexes challenges over the weekend.

With the women winning the challenge it was up to them to decide who would leave by the back door, without the cheering crowd of fans.

And after some deliberation model Malika Haqq said, "I have to speak for the women. This is not easy for us at all. With the heaviest heart, we have to say goodbye to John Barnes."

She went on to explain that they thought Daniel should still have a shot at winning the series.

However, a number of fans weren't happy at the result and vented their frustrations on social media, one called it an 'absolute joke', with another saying 'John didn't deserve that exit'.

Another fan took to social media to say how 'noble' John was, when he found out he was being evicted. One user simply said, '#CBB John is so noble.'

John Barnes joins the growing list of celebrities who have been evicted in the 21st series of the show. The first person to be evicted was India Willoughby, and last week we saw a double eviction of Maggie Oliver and Rachel Johnson, after a nominations twist which kept viewers guessing for most of the week.

In other Celebrity Big Brother news last week some eagle-eyed viewers noticed some 'secret' areas of the house. The unexplained garden area seems to be some kind of studio connected to the smoking area.
