Aberdeen Facing Crisis Over Teaching Numbers

The EIS union say staffing levels in Aberdeen city and shire schools are the worst in Scotland.

Teachers in the North East are being streteched to breaking point by staff shortages, according to the EIS Teaching Union. The union says staffing levels in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire were the worst in the country. Aberdeen City Council have started introducing incentives such as golden hellos, and have offered to pay the tuition fees of council staff who want to become primary teachers.
