Man seriously injured in Aberdeenshire school bus crash

Children aged 12 - 16 on the bus suffered minor injures.

A 39-year-old man's in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Aberdeenshire involving a school bus and two cars.

The collision happened around 4.05pm today on the A944 between Alford and Westhill, involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a silver Volvo V40.

Children on board the bus aged 12 - 16 suffered minor injures, as well as the 65-year-old bus driver.

A replacement bus attended and officers have been in contact with the local authority to ensure their welfare.

Police are looking for witnesses while enquiries into the incident continue.

Sergeant Steve Manson said:

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision and I would urge anyone with information who has not yet spoken to police to get in touch.

“We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the road around the time.

“Anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 2155 of 7 February, 2022.”
