Family of Hazel Nairn informed after body found in River Don

The family of missing Hazel Nairn have been informed after a body was found in the River Don.

Ms Nairn went missing on 18 November 2022 after she was swept into the River Don at Monymusk during floods.

The body of her dog, Rory, was found a few days later.

Today, officers said the remains of a woman were recovered from the river near Kemnay at around 1.20pm.

Whilst formal identification is yet to take place, the family of the 71-year-old have been informed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
