An investigation's been launched into an online video, apparently threatening officers involved in the search for missing Fife man Allan Bryant.

It emerged on Youtube over the weekend, and claimed to be from the self-proclaimed hacktivist group Anonymous.

In it, a disguised voice hits out at the lack of progress in the search for the young man who was last seen leaving the Styx nightclub in Glenrothes on November 3rd 2013.

The mystery person says: "This is a message to Police Scotland. We are aware of the lack of cooperation with the family of missing man Allan Bryant junior

"As civil servants it is your responsibility to serve the needs of your public.

"All you have done is failed the Bryant family.

"This is a warning to Police Scotland and particularly the Glenrothes Police headquarters.

"Should you not do more to have the culprits that have harmed Allan Bryant junior brought to justice then we are going to initiate our very own justice against you and your officers.

"We are more than anyone thinks. We are many. We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive, we do not forget. Expect us."

Police are now understood to be looking into the circumstances of the video.

Despite a major search effort, no clues have been found as to where Allan Bryant may have gone.
