Police Scotland is appealing for information to assist with enquiries into the sudden death of a man in Aberdeen.

Officers along with the Scottish Ambulance Service were called to The Travelodge carpark, Inverurie Road, at around 12.10pm yesterday afternoon (Tuesday November 21, 2017) after the body of a 26-year-old man was discovered within a parked black Ford Transit van - reg. number BG55 PXZ.

His death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector David Howieson said: "As part of our enquiries it is crucial we piece together the movements of this man in the days leading up to his death. As such I would appeal to anyone who saw his van either parked in the same carpark or elsewhere in the city over the last few days to please get in touch as soon as possible.

"His next of kin have been informed and we are liaising closely with them. Our thoughts are with them at this very sad time.

"Anyone with information can contact Police on 101 quoting ref. number 1300 of Nov 21."
