We’re looking for someone special who deserves to fly the Celebrate Aberdeen flag at the front of the annual third sector parade.

This person might be a colleague or volunteer who works tirelessly for a local organisation, or perhaps they are a service user.

The flag-bearer will lead the parade along Union Street carrying with them the Celebrate Aberdeen flag marking the beginning of a weekend of live music and entertainment across the city centre of Aberdeen.

Last year Dustin MacDonald was chosen to fly the flag for Celebrate Aberdeen. Dustin is the chair of the Aberdeen City Centre Community Council and has been a committed volunteer to Celebrate Aberdeen over the years.

This year the decision was taken to hand the nomination process over to you. Do you know someone who fits the bill? Let the Celebrate Aberdeen team know by August 5th by clicking here.

Celebrate Aberdeen will announce a shortlist of the top three flag-bearing front runners soon after, we’ll be sure to keep you up to date here on northsound1.com

Celebrate Aberdeen takes place on Saturday and Sunday 27th and 28th of August, kicking off with the popular third sector parade along Union Street before live music and theatrical performances in Union Terrace Gardens, the Bon Accord Centre & Aberdeen City Library.

Northsound 1 will be broadcasting live from across the city for Celebrate Aberdeen this August.
