It's claimed offshore helicopter safety has improved significantly in the past year, according to the Civil Aviation Authority. The CAA called for safety improvements a year ago, following a number of incidents in the North Sea.

That included stopping aircraft flying in extreme weather conditions, and the introduction of the new Emergency Breathing System. But the authority say there's still more to do - including changing the design of helicopters to make them safer.
