Passenger Dies After Car Hits Tree

A teenager has been killed after the car he was a passenger in left the road and crashed into a tree, police said. The 19-year-old man died at the scene of the crash in Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire. Four other teenagers - a 17-year-old male who was driving the red Ford Fiesta car, an 18-year-old male and two 17-year-old female passengers - were all injured. They were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment, although their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police Scotland are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident, which took place at about 8.50pm on Saturday, or who saw the car being driven before that, to contact them.
