Public told to review home security as Kintore and Inverurie homes targeted

We've been urged to review our home security following a number of thefts and attempted thefts
The areas targeted were Wyness Place and Castleview Avenue, Kintore, and the Corsmanhill Avenue area of Inverurie.
The incidents happened at around 4:00am on Thursday, 17 November.
A number of personal items worth a high three-figure sum of money were taken.
Detective Chief Inspector Kevin Walker has urged the public to take simple security measures such as ensuring all their doors and windows are locked at all times so that opportunistic thieves do not stand a chance.
He said: "By leaving your property unlocked you are making it easy for opportunistic thieves. In addition not only are you compromising your own safety but that of the general public too when stolen vehicles are driven dangerously by these criminals.
"We are also warning people about buying goods that may be stolen.
"While it may be tempting to purchase high value goods for a reasonable price by doing this you are assisting the criminals.
"If you suspect that property may have been stolen report this to the police.
"While we are continuing to work with partners to make the North East a hostile environment for this type of crime we need you to help us.
"If you see any concerning or suspicious behaviour in your neighbourhood please report it to us immediately on 101."
