Police believe two women indecently assaulted on their way home following a night out were targeted by the same man.

The separate incidents happened during the early hours of Sunday in the Hardgate and Fonthill areas of Aberdeen.

The women were walking home from the city centre at around 2.50am when they were assaulted. Neither was injured.

Police have been reviewing CCTV footage in a bid to trace the suspect, thought to be aged 20 to 30.

Detective Sergeant Mike Reynolds said: "I believe the same male may be responsible for both incidents.

"He is dressed in a black Puffa-style jacket, black clothing and footwear, and was wearing a black beanie hat. He is of a slim build and is approximately 5ft

10in tall.

"I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the area of Langstane Place, Hardgate or Fonthill Avenue between 2am and 3.40am on Sunday, who believes they may have seen this male or anything suspicious between these times.''

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
