AC/DC share rare 1979 performance of 'The Jack'
As part of their month-long 'Highway To Hell' 40th anniversary celebrations, AC/DC have shared a rarely-seen performance video of ‘The Jack’.
Available to watch below, the archive performance was recorded on 13th July 1979 in Arnhem, The Netherlands for the TV show Countdown.
Last week, AC/DC uploaded a video for ‘Highway To Hell’ from the same TV show to YouTube, and they will share ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ on Wednesday 31st July.
The rare footage of all three AC/DC classics previously appeared on the gargantuan DVD box set ‘Plug Me In’ back in October 2007, but they’ve previously not been available online.
AC/DC reactivated their social media accounts on Tuesday 16th July for the first time in almost two years to celebrate Highway To Hell’s 40th anniversary - their final studio album with the late-great Bon Scott.
It’s currently unclear whether there will be any new AC/DC activity alongside the YouTube videos.
There has been intense speculation over the past year that AC/DC are releasing a new album in Malcolm Young’s memory with Phil Rudd and Brian Johnson back in the band.
Brian himself seemingly confirmed his return when grindcore band Terrorizer wrote on Facebook that Brian had told them he was back with AC/DC.
Two weeks ago, Kansas radio station V-100 reported that AC/DC will announce a new world tour on Wednesday 17th July. The report ultimately turned out to be baseless.
