AC/DC Wrap Up Record Breaking Tour
The figures are in for DC\'s Black Ice tour and they\'re very impressive indeed
AC/DC wrapped up their Black Ice World Tour at the end of last month and now the numbers have been crunched, pennies counted and it has been revealed that it was the second most successful tour of all time.
After criss-crossing the globe for over 20 months and playing to over 5 million people, AC/DC's Black Ice World Tour came to a close in Bilboa, Spain on June 28, 2010. The Black Ice World Tour took AC/DC to 108 cities in over 28 countries.
And with a haul of about $441.6 million, the 2008-10 Black Ice tour was second only to The Rolling Stones’ 2005-07 A Bigger Bang tour, which grossed $558.3 million.
AC/DC kicked off their tour on the heels of releasing their critically lauded album Black Ice, which landed at #1 on album charts in over 29 countries around the globe.
Another of the band’s record breaking feats celebrated its 30th birthday over the weekend.
Back In Black was released on 25 July 1980 and has gone on to become one of the biggest selling albums of all time, and the band have celebrated the occasion with an online tribute feature on their official fan club website.
