Bernie Marsden to honour rock's greatest power trios on 'Trios' album
Including Beck, Bogert & Appice
Whitesnake legend Bernie Marsden will release the third and final instalment of his ‘Inspirations’ album series this summer, ‘Trios.’
Following the critically lauded and commercially successful predecessors ‘Kings’ (honouring Albert King, B.B. King and Freddie King) and ‘Chess’ (honouring Chess Records artists) from 2021, ‘Trios’ sees Bernie Marsden pay musical tribute to the greatest power trios in the history of music.
Unlike the more restrained ‘Kings’ and ‘Chess’, ‘Trios’ showcases the harder rocking side of Bernie Marsden’s musical palette.
The first single to be released from ‘Trios’ will be a rip-roaring version of the Don Nix song ‘Black Cat Moan’ on Friday 22nd April 2022.
‘Black Cat Moan’ was popularised by rock supergroup Beck, Bogert & Appice in 1973 when they covered it as the opening track on their only studio album, the self-titled ‘Beck, Bogert & Appice.’
Set for release in summer 2022 via Conquest Music, more details about ‘Trios’ will be unveiled in the coming weeks and months.
Don’t forget, Bernie Marsden headlines Planet Rockstock 2022 on Friday 2nd December 2022 where he’ll be performing a set of Whitesnake classics with rock powerhouse Neville McDonald on vocals.
Other artists on the bill across the four days include King King (Thursday headliner), Monster Truck (Sunday headliner), Sweet, Blaze Bayley, When Rivers Meet, Gin Annie, H.E.A.T, Danny Bryant, Elles Bailey and many more.

Monsters of Rock 1980 line-up
Rainbow promoter Paul Loasby together with Maurice Jones organised a one-day music festival in the UK celebrating hard rock and heavy metal music. The inaugural Monsters of Rock was held at Donington Park racetrack on 16th August 1980 with Rainbow topping a bill that also featured Judas Priest, Scorpions, April Wine, Saxon, Riot and Touch. Saxon were so enamoured by the experience, Biff Byford wrote the song 'And the Bands Played On' about it.
