Biffy Clyro To Headline Sonisphere

Scots to make festival headline debut at 2011 bash

Biffy Clyro have been added to the Sonisphere Festival line-up as headliners on Saturday 9 July.

The band, who will be headlining a major UK festival for the first time, join Slipknot on the bill after the Iowan masked metallers were confirmed last week.

Biffy recently completed a sold out arena tour of the UK and their latest album, Only Revolutions, has sold more than 300,000 copies since its release last November.

The band also supported Muse at Wembley Stadium earlier this year and will support the Foo Fighters at their Milton Keynes shows next summer.

They also received the Virtual Festivals Critics Choice Award for a "secret” performance at Glastonbury in June.

Tickets for Sonisphere are on sale on Friday at 9am

Sonisphere once again takes place at Knebworth Park, but this year it takes place a little earlier in the summer on 8-10 July.

More acts are to be announced in the coming weeks.
