29 days before Catton Park opens its gates, Bloodstock 2021 has announced a handful of line-up changes for the rock and metal extravaganza.

Swedish melodic death metallers Dark Tranquility can no longer perform due to Covid-19 travel issues, however Liverpool quintet Loathe have been brought in to take the coveted Ronnie James Dio Stage slot on the Friday.

Loathe singer Erik Bickerstaff enthuses: “We are thrilled to be performing at this year's Bloodstock Festival for the first time, and to be sharing the Main Stage on August 13th alongside an incredible and eclectic line-up of heavy artists.”

With Jason Cameron leaving Bury Tomorrow the band have pulled out with While She Sleeps taking their place.

Bury Tomorrow said: “Due to the band’s current line up situation and despite best efforts we are unfortunately unable to play Bloodstock this year, we are truly gutted! We support the festival and hope everyone enjoys every minute of the weekend!

“We are however over the moon to confirm Bloodstock have invited us back next year so we will see you all at Bloodstock 2022!!”

Elsewhere, British rockers Black Spiders will now play the Sophie Lancaster Stage in place of Unleash The Archers, and Foetal Juice replace the recently split up Lotus Eater.

10 more Metal 2 The Masses winners from various parts of the country have been added to the New Blood stage.

Landing slots on the Friday are Terminal Sun, Beyond Extinction, Sail, Beyond Salvation and Severenth. Black Atlas, A Horse Called War, Ascaris, Desolation and Hawxx play the Saturday.

Taking place from Wednesday 11th to Sunday 15th August 2021, Bloodstock 2021’s main stage headliners are Devin Townsend (Friday), Kreator (Saturday) and Judas Priest (Sunday).

The festival will also feature sets from Skindred, Paradise Lost, Diamond Head, Therapy?, Venom Prison, Jinjer, Vio-Lence, Saxon, The Wildhearts, Gloryhammer, Bleed From Within, Napalm Death, Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons, Memoriam, Ramage Inc., Green Lung, Conjurer, Orange Goblin, Raging Speedhorn, Lawnmower Deth, Conan, Sylosis, Winterfylleth, Hacktivist, The Crawling, Evil Scarecrow, Acid Reign, Svalbard, Borstal, Seidrblot, Mother Vulture, Bloodshot Dawn, Evile and many more.
