The first-ever official documentary series about Bon Jovi’s history will stream on Disney+ in the UK this spring.
Marking the 40th anniversary of Bon Jovi’s recording career, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story has been made with the full cooperation of past and present members of the band.
Focusing primarily on eponymous frontman Jon Bon Jovi, the four part series chronicles Bon Jovi’s four-decade career and it will be available to watch in the UK on Friday 26th April 2024.
Thank you, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story is directed and executive produced by multiple Emmy Award winner Gotham Chopra (“Kobe Bryant’s Muse,” “Man in the Arena,” “Tom vs. Time”) with Alex Trudeau Viriato producing and editing, and Giselle Parets and Ameeth Sankaran on executive production duties.
A description of Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story reads: ‘This series follows one of the world’s most iconic bands and its frontman, Jon Bon Jovi. The documentary gives us a view of behind the music and the man.
‘As thrilling as the story of a once-in-a-lifetime talent is, it is even more rare that a legend like Jon Bon Jovi lets the world into his most vulnerable moments while he’s still living them. Forty years of personal videos, unreleased early demos, original lyrics and never-before-seen photos that chronicle the journey from Jersey Shore clubs to the biggest stages on the planet. The series relives the triumphs and setbacks, greatest hits, biggest disappointments and most public moments of friction.’
Bon Jovi released their first new material in four years in November, the festive track ‘Christmas Isn’t Christmas.’
In November, former guitarist Richie Sambora said it was “time” for him to reunite with Bon Jovi for a 40th anniversary tour in 2024.
It’s reported that Sambora will reunite with Jon Bon Jovi when the singer picks up his MusiCares Person of the Year award in Los Angeles on Friday 2nd February.
