Corey Taylor injures testicle while screaming Dokken high notes

Just weeks after undergoing surgery on both knees, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has suffered another unfortunate injury.

The masked metaller took to Twitter yesterday to tell his 579,000 followers he “blew out” his left testicle while practising vocals for Slipknot’s upcoming European tour, which kicks off at Rockfest in Hyvinkaa, Finland next week.

He wrote: “Working on my ‘87 Dokken high notes this morning. F***ed around and blew out the left testicle. Careful on re-entry, kids.”

Corey then added the hashtags ‘#kissofdeath’ and ‘#pissinblood’

When one user joked about Corey now being able to sing Slipknot’s brutal 1999 anthem ‘Surfacing’ in soprano, Corey quipped: “I can do the guitar intro falsetto.”

Another wrote: “If you pee blood WHILE screaming Dokken, I think you become the new king of metal. There would be a ceremony and everything.”

Corey responded: “They’d have to forgive me for not standing during the ceremony.”

Here's the offending song that (inadvertently) caused Corey's injury - Dokken's 'Kiss of Death':

Hopefully Corey fully recovers - and his voice goes down a few octaves - in time for Slipknot’s headline appearance at Download Festival on Saturday 15th June.

Slipknot appear on a blockbuster Download Festival line-up that boasts Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators, Rob Zombie, Halestorm, Slayer and many more. Tickets are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.

UPDATE: Dokken have now responded to the testicle incident with Don Dokken sending "his sympathies" to Corey.
