Fish announces 'Clutching At Straws' / 'Weltschmerz' 2018 tour

Former Marillion singer Fish will embark on a new headline tour later this year.

Author: Scott ColothanPublished 5th Mar 2018

The three dates in September and seven in December will see Fish perform Marillion’s 1987 album ‘Clutching At Straws’ in its entirety followed by a second set featuring songs from his upcoming 'Weltschmerz' solo record.

Tickets to all shows are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets right now.

Fish is currently holed up in his studio in Scotland writing with long-term collaborator Steve Vantsis and other musicians, with recording sessions for 'Weltschmerz' planned for the summer. The album will be produced by Calum Malcolm.

'Weltschmerz' is scheduled for release in mid-September and Fish will once again join forces with Marillion/Iron Maiden/Judas Priest artist Mark Wilkinson for the album cover.

Certain to be potent in subject matter, the word ‘Weltschmerz’ was coined by the 18th Century German writer Jean Paul to describe a ‘feeling of apathy caused by the sadness about life when seeing the evils of the world.’
