Geezer Butler unveils autobiography artwork and sets release date for '6/6/6'
"Although unintentional, having that as a release date suits me fine"
Black Sabbath legend Geezer Butler has revealed the artwork to his autobiography ‘Into the Void: From Birth to Black Sabbath – and Beyond’.
Capturing Geezer in his imperious live glory on stage with Black Sabbath while surrounded by dry ice, the memoir’s artwork also features a suitably heavy metal looking font.
Previously set for release on 8th June 2023, Geezer has now revealed that the book is coming out two days earlier on 6th June 2023 - 6/6/23 (2 times 3 is 6, of course).
Geezer wrote on Instagram: “After spending my entire life creating memories, to eventually set aside how reserved I am, I have put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).
“The recollection of my life (thus far) is coming out 6/6/23. Yes I know that 2x3=6. Although unintentional, having that as a release date suits me fine.”

Geezer’s former Black Sabbath band mate Ozzy Osbourne confirmed his live return yesterday (30th March) after a series of health setbacks in recent years.
Ozzy Osbourne will play Power Trip festival in California on Saturday 7th October, and he appears on a weekend bill that boasts AC/DC, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns N’ Roses and Tool.
Ozzy Osbourne released his autobiography I Am Ozzy in 2009, and Tony Iommi followed two years later with his memoir Iron Man: My Journey Through Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath.
Ronnie James Dio’s autobiography Rainbow in the Dark, which he’d partially written before his untimely death in 2010, was released in 2021.
