Glenn Hughes names Gary Moore as the greatest guitarist he's ever played with
He was 'un-be-lie-va-ble'

Glenn Hughes has singled out the late-great Gary Moore as the greatest guitar player he’s ever performed with.
With an illustrious career spanning more than five decades, Glenn Hughes has worked with some of the finest guitar players in the history of rock music.
In a fresh interview with Rockin' Metal Revival, Glenn Hughes explained that the truly “un-be-lie-va-ble” Gary Moore was head and shoulders above the rest.
Asked who is his favourite guitarist he’s ever played with, Hughes replied: "I want go on record now. I'm going to list a few for you. I’ve played with (Joe) Satriani, (Joe) Bonamassa, (Tony) Iommi and (Ritchie) Blackmore and Pat Thrall and Brian May and Jerry Cantrell and Warren Haynes.
“I could go on and list them all… and Mel Galley and Tommy Bolin. I mean, I could carry on. But my favourite… I really want you to push this one. My dearest old friend — we started working together in 1979… Gary Moore was the best."
Hughes continued: "Now, people, understand me now, Gary and I were very close. We made the album 'Run For Cover' (Moore’s 1985 solo album).
“When I look back at Gary and I working together and him playing in my studio and sitting in my home on the couch writing songs, that guy was un-be-lie-va-ble. I mean, un-be-lie-va-ble.
“Again, all those people I spoke about are iconic guitar players. I mean, I've played with them all. So I'm very proud to say. Bonamassa right now is… I mean, Joe's incredible and Ritchie and Tony. But Gary Moore (is the best)."
Glenn Hughes hits the road this month on Planet Rock’s Rocktober tour with special guests The Damn Truth.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Deep Purple’s ‘Burn’ album, the tour will also feature other songs from the MKIII and MKIV era of Deep Purple when Glenn was a member of the legendary band.
